Sourdough and Bread (operated by K&X Invest) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and do on this site, and what our advertising partner may do when ads are shown. Throughout this page, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Sourdough and Bread — not Gourmet Ads or other third parties.

What We Do (Site Operator)

We run the bake planner, guides, and journal. We do not sell your personal information. We do not require an account. The sections below describe only data we handle directly.

Data in Your Browser (localStorage)

We use your browser’s localStorage to save preferences and baking history only on your device: calculator settings, saved recipes, notes, and photos. This data is not sent to our servers and is not shared with advertisers. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies and process usage data according to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser’s cookie controls.

Newsletter

If you subscribe via the newsletter form, we collect your email address and add it to our mailing list through our email provider (Resend). Recipe and bake history in localStorage are not included. We use your email only to send occasional baking tips and product updates. You can unsubscribe from any message or via Resend’s preference page. Do not include sensitive personal information when subscribing.

Feedback

If you use the Feedback form (header icon or footer link), we collect the email address and message you submit; an NPS score is optional. Recipe and bake history in localStorage are not included. We send only what you type, plus basic context such as the page URL and screen size, to Resend so we can read and respond. Do not include sensitive personal information in your message.

What Our Advertising Partner Does (Gourmet Ads)

We display ads through Gourmet Ads Pty Limited (“Gourmet Ads”), a third-party food advertising network. Gourmet Ads — not us — operates the ad-serving technology on this site. Their practices are described in their Privacy Policy and in Gourmet Ads’ sample publisher privacy policy, which we reference below for ad-related disclosures.

When you view pages with ads, Gourmet Ads and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies for ad delivery, reporting, and interest-based advertising. We do not control what Gourmet Ads or its partners collect, and we do not receive your recipe or bake data from them.

Personally identifiable information

According to Gourmet Ads, their ad-serving platform is designed to use only non–personally identifiable information and has contractual provisions that prohibit associating platform cookies with personally identifiable information. Gourmet Ads states that it does not collect or use personally identifiable information for ad serving on publisher sites.

How Gourmet Ads uses cookies

Although the specific cookies may change over time, Gourmet Ads describes their ad platform as using cookies to:

• identify web browsers and store data for advertising purposes, including interest-based advertising;
• store ad delivery and reporting data (for example, which ad was shown, how many times, and how recently);
• track responses (clicks and conversions) to ads;
• balance server load and similar technical purposes; and
• store opt-out choices you make.

Gourmet Ads may work with third-party companies (such as ad servers, demand partners, and measurement providers) that separately collect non–personally identifiable information — for example, referring pages, visit times, page views, search keywords, click data, ad types viewed, and general location (such as city, country, or postal code) — to deliver and measure ads. Consent and opt-out (Gourmet Ads)

Gourmet Ads may provide a consent management platform (CMP) through the ad code on this site. Use the control in the next section to open Gourmet Ads’ “Do Not Sell or Share” / privacy choices. You can also:

• visit Microsoft Privacy to opt out of cookies from Xandr (AppNexus), Gourmet Ads’ primary ad server;
• use the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page; and
• disable or limit cookies in your browser settings.

Other ad providers

If we enable Google AdSense in the future, Google may also set cookies or use similar technologies under Google’s advertising policies. Any such provider would be separate from Gourmet Ads.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell or share personal information we collect directly (newsletter email, feedback, or localStorage data). Gourmet Ads and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers for interest-based advertising as described above. Do Not Sell or Share
